i think the social media can change the world we live in, by changing how we think about each other. Like if u post something mean that can change the person's reputation. it can change politics and the economy by planning protests like the way they did in Egypt. And something that isn't suppose to be shared with the world, can easily come out by posting it on Facebook or Twitter.

ReplyDeleteThe role that social media sites like Facebook and Twitter play in politics is it lets people share their opinions on politics. It also might let a political figure keep people updated on events that will happen that has to do with things political.
The role that social media plays in our economy is it promotes businesses because someone might make a page of their new business and post it around Facebook or Twitter.
The role that social media like Facebook or Twitter play in the way we think about ourselves is it might make us feel negative about ourselves because someone might post something on Facebook about you that is rude of offensive, like something about your weight or culture. It could also be positive because you might post a picture, and everyone gives compliments to you.
Facebook and Twitter are sites to help connect with friends and maybr family. Thats what those sites are for, they have nothing to do with the politics and econimy they're just ways to maybe let people know wgat we're doing at the moment, or a way to let someone get to know you even when they have never met you in person. It may occur a little bit about oursleves, I mean who doesnt like sharing a little bit of information about their lives because thats what Faceboook and Twitter are for!

There are also some bad ways to use Facebook and Twitter, such as stalking people and planning attacks or protests. For example a whole group of protesters planned everything in Facebook.

In politics it may show the political news around the world and see what kinds of problems there are and try to change it. Then as for the economy it's just like politics, you see the priblems and try to change them. These social media networks may change the way we think if ourselves since it does show how different we are from others.
ReplyDeletei think that the role social medias may shape the world because most problems that occur happen on the internet in websites such as facebook,twitter,aim,myspace(yikes thats old!! haha),etc.. ALot of issues start here.. cyberbullying, stalkers, fights, drama, he-said-she-said, rapes, murders, etc.. it changes the way we think of ourselves because some people like to use social medias almost like masks to hide who they really are. It also starts "trends" that makes people almost copy eachother & hide their real personalities................................... :)

What I mean is that Facebook can lead to cyberbullying and alot of uneeded drama.I think that facebook is for older kids because they are more mature and knows what things to post when they disagree with someone. ReplyDeleteif you wrote somethinmg bad about another person please delete it because it's wrong to talk badly about others. In the end the world is going to point fingers at the young people for the reason of suicide and messed up economy, so to prove them wrong we should ust do right.

ReplyDeleteI think that social media sits like Facebook/ Twitter, play a role in which gives us updates about political events, such as president' election days, who's the president, what did the government recently do? and etc.. they play a role in our economy in which they provide us the opportunity to be social and get along with our friends and families. Also because we're sometimes very social about ourselves and sometimes we want to beautify ourselves in front of others, depending on people's comments on facebook, we change our thinking of ourselves.
I think that the role that these social media sites play in our life is the time consumer. We usually get bored and have nothing to do but if we go on Facebook or something it is so easy to be on for 5 hours when it feels like 5 minutes.
ReplyDeleteSocial media sites like facebook and twitter play a huge role in our society. Facebook is now overrated, and i believe that when people make a facebook account, their self esteem goes low. In facebook you can update your statuses, and who your with, it makes people feel bad about themselves. In this society you will get judged no matter what you wear, how you look, etc, you will get judged.Facebook is also one of the most common sites where cyber bullying occurs. More than 60 percent of teens call themselves "fat" because they are always comparing themselves to others. Based on politics, you can get alot of updates and news on what's happening.
ReplyDeleteSocial media sites like Facebook and twitter play a huge role in our society because at first Facebook was made to meet other people and now people are taking it as a competition to likes on a photo , likes on a status , which that eventually results into drama , fights , arguments etc . People post childish pictures and statuses to try and stand out and when they do that people think of them as ... which once again results into drama.

To keep moving in the right direction and do our daily activities and to lead us.What we need to be aware is that most of our decisions, beliefs and values are based on what we know for a fact, our assumptions and our own experience. In our work we usually know what we have to do based on our experience and studies, however on our daily lives we rely on the media to get the current news and facts about what is important and what we should be aware of.For example on post on facebook caused a whole protest in egypt. Thats why i think they play a big role.

There are many things that happen in Facebook everyday. I spend most of my time in Facebook talking to my friends or family members. There are many fights, arguments and drama in Facebook, just because she like her picture and not yours can result into a huge fight. In the other hand Facebook is also helpful, many news are posted in Facebook so when something happens most of the people in Facebook will know right away. Also,58% of kids admit someone has said mean or hurtful things to them online. More than four out of ten say it has happened more than once. So, Facebook is useful and useless at the same time.

The People react in the real world and start protest and fights againts the government, politics, etc. And in Tumblr/Twitter, you follow people and when they write news and stuff that's important than you'll spread it and then the whole entire world will now. People will then do something.
